This low budget visual poem gives you insight into our production company’s ethos
While there are some projects that showcase Motley Content’s commercial prowess or our ability to secure funding for narrative productions, there are others that are really about getting back to our roots and exploring the reasons we became filmmakers in the first place.
It would be an understatement to call Peter James John a low budget video production. Made with only a 3 person crew alongside our Brisbane producer, Grace Julia, this visual poem truly was a labour of love.

In this silent 3-minute film, we meet Mary and a series of her lovers, all of whom have different attachment styles. From anxious to avoidant and finally secure. Starring rising talent Piper Martin, we are invited into a space of unbridled vulnerability as she grows through heartbreak.
While I had initially thought this production would not have commercial viability, I quickly realised how many transferrable skills it showcases for the Motley Content team, such as

Motley Content is a video production company built on a passion for filmmaking
While this video production was not for a client and certainly doesn’t have the budget of a larger scale campaign, as the film’s producer, I’ve realised that sharing this work provides an insight into the production company that simply posting a flawless TVC or web series update cannot — it’s a demonstration of passion.
